Invasion of the green cabinets!

Have you spotted one of these new, shiny green cabinets that have been popping up around the Island?

Over the last few months, these have been appearing in the streets of Sandown, Shanklin, and other towns on the Isle of Wight like something from an episode of Doctor Who. What are they and where have they come from?

We are pleased to inform you that they are harmless and have been installed by BT Openreach as part of their rollout of BT Infinity Broadband FTCC (Fibre-To-The-Cabinet) services in certain areas of the Island. This mystical box is connected to your local telephone exchange with superfast fibre optic cables, which means that users subscribed to the service can benefit from hugely improved Internet speeds of “up to 76 Mbit/s” and upload speeds of “up to 19 Mbit/s” through their existing telephone wiring.

We’ll be doing a blog soon on BT Infinity / fibre broadband and how it can benefit your business.
