A super time at Business Expo 2024

Why on Earth are we dressed up like superheroes? You're going to have to open the article and read on to find out!

11th July 2024

This week we exhibited at the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Expo, which returned to the previous venue within the grounds of Ryde School.

Our theme this year was based around “IT superheroes”. Several of our customers often call us this, so we thought we’d don our capes and go with it for a day!

Behold our amazing banner artwork!

We had a great prize to give away – a top of the range noise-cancelling headset for better video calls. To enter, you had to share your secret identity with us, and if you weren’t feeling ready to share your real superhero name, we would spin the wheel to generate you a tech-related one!

Heroes included “Captain Firewall”, “Flash Drive” and “Surge Protector”, whilst a few villains snuck in too – “Bandwidth Bandit”, “Messy Desktop” and “Ransomware Ranger”!

Spin the wheel game to reveal your superhero name!

We enjoyed talking to visitors about IT annoyances within their business, and for those who “DIY it” at the moment, asked if perhaps they might like to outsource that to a team of IT superheroes?

We produced and gave away a guide on this topic, you can grab a digital copy here – https://www.wightcomputers.co.uk/diy/

As usual, we had some fantastic biscuits to give away – this year they were shaped like masks and available in 4 bright colours!

The lucky winner of our prize draw at the end of the day was the Antivirus Vixen (aka Alison 🤫). She was loving her new identity so much, she wanted to get into a cape for the photo!

A huge thank you from us to everyone who came to visit our stand, and the following local businesses who helped us make our Expo stand great!

Missing from this photo: Ben, the real superhero, who was back at the office helping save the day for our customers!

See you at the next one! Your secret identities are safe with us 🤫🦸
