This week saw the return of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Expo, at a new venue, within the grounds of Ryde School.

After taking a break last year, we were back exhibiting again with the theme “Secure The Office”.

We’re all big fans of The Office TV show (the American version) and wanted an excuse to buy some Lego for our own office, so we couldn’t resist when we saw this set.

The tenuous link to our services is that we help businesses secure their office, and if you visited our stand, you had the chance to “secure” your own Office Lego set!

We setup a series of scenes using the characters, to highlight some of the common IT security mistakes that often occur in an office environment.

A post-it note is stuck to the monitor and appears to show a username and password!

We enjoyed talking these through with visitors, and finding out how many of the bad practices they admitted to doing themselves!

Each visitor received a yummy biscuit (in the shape of a key, because Wight Computers are the key to helping you stay secure…) and a postcard with a link to a free guide with tips on how to keep their office secure by training their staff.

As the day came to a close, we had an independent party pick a business card out of the bowl. The lucky winner who secured his own Office Lego set was Matthew Lovett from Wight Fibre!

A huge thank you from us to everyone who came to visit our stand, and the following local businesses who helped us make our Expo stand great!

See you at the next one!
