We are proud to announce that Wight Computers have donated £1,000 to John Cattle’s Skate Club, our chosen Charity of the Year for 2025. 🛹
If you’re local, you’ve probably heard of the Skate Club. It’s a brilliant community interest company that teaches people of all ages and abilities how to skateboard. It’s run by John Cattle, a lifelong Island skateboarder who’s helped create a fun, inclusive space that brings people together and builds confidence on and off the ramps.
“I took lessons with John a few years ago and saw first-hand what a welcoming and positive environment the Skate Club creates. They do fantastic work in the local community, and when we heard they were struggling with rising costs, we knew we wanted to help. This donation is our way of giving something back to a cause that genuinely changes lives on the Island.”
– Andrew Nordbruch, Managing Director of Wight Computers.
The club is currently running a fundraising appeal to cover some of their essential expenses like insurance and staff training, which are needed just to keep the doors open.
“We’re really grateful to Andrew and the Wight Computers’ team for their support. Things have become harder financially, especially when we’re trying to keep things affordable for the families who need it most. Donations like this give us breathing space while we wait on funding decisions and help us keep doing what we love.”

If you’d like to support them too, they’ve set up a GoFundMe page here:

And yes, we marked the occasion in style, with John doing an ollie over Andrew and his laptop. Naturally.
